San Francisco Marathon Playlist

After my first marathon experience at Walt Disney World Marathon, I wanted to know how I could do when I hadn’t run races for three days before. So, I decided to sign up for Chicago Marathon. Not long after that, Katherine at http://mouserunner.blogspot.com/ encouraged me to run the San Francisco Marathon. I feel pretty crazy to be running three marathons in one year, not to mention running one just 2 1/2 months before my goal marathon, but I decided I’ll take San Francisco just a little easier than I otherwise would and use it to assess my readiness and weaknesses for Chicago.

In preparation for San Francisco, I’ve put together my playlist. Naturally, this playlist has a bit less Disney than my Dopey Challenge Walt Disney World Marathon Playlists. I added some music themed for California and San Francisco and timed the music for the race, with specific music at specific points on the course.

Chicago Marathon Charity : Team Red Cross

I’m excited to announce that I will be running the 2014 Chicago Marathon!

Registration for the marathon opened today. While many people across the country were entering the lottery, I was busy setting up my fundraising page for the race. I chose to avoid the uncertainty of the lottery process by joining a charity team.

I will be running the Chicago Marathon for Team Red Cross: 2014 Chicago Marathon.

Dopey Challenge – Walt Disney World Marathon Recap

I was really nervous about the Walt Disney World Marathon. Not only would this be my first marathon, but I had already done three races over the previous three days. I had no idea how it would go, including whether I’d even be able to make it across the finish line. I had trained hard for months and hit all my mileage, but when the day finally came, anything could happen. But here’s what did happen:

Dopey Challenge Running Costumes – Walt Disney World Marathon

Running a marathon is hard. Running a marathon in the heat is even harder. Running a marathon in the heat wearing a lot of clothes is even harder than that. The weather report for the Walt Disney World Marathon looks like it’s going to be a warm and humid one. I need to run in something light and breathable.

I considered skipping the costume for the marathon. Three days of costumes is a pretty good showing. And I’m taking those easy to save up for the marathon, so should be able to handle a little more costume bulk. But I’m not going there for the marathon. I’m wearing a white tanktop.
